the 7 Secrets of memorizing verses

To read God’s word a few minutes a day, or even a few minutes a week, is not going to cut it.  It’s not fair to God, it’s not fair to our relationship with the Lord.  You’ve got to set yourself up in the best way possible to become more familiar with His truths that affect and will ultimately change your life to be more like Christ.

If God’s word is truly a priority, then it should be in our lives and there are easier that will help this process become a feasible habit in your life.  A habit of getting to know God.

It was the psalmist David, in Psalm 119, that wrote, “I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against Thee.”  David knew that if he had God’s word in his heart, accessible and ready to apply in his life, that he would follow God closer.  This tactic is proven even more effective as we learn in Christ’s life how He quotes the Old Testament day in and day out unfolding in the story of the gospels.

The challenge is before you.  No matter how much of God’s word you know or can find or recollect right now, you can learn more about Him in God’s word by picking out methods that work for you and discovering the way you learn Bible verses the best.

It may be intimidating for some to have a goal of memorizing X amount of verses, a chapter of scripture or even a small epistle, but with initiative and effort mixed with the Holy Spirit’s guidance and perseverance…

God’s word promises you that His word will become even more alive.

Bible verses are not to be taken lightly and they are literally God’s loving truth delivered to us to execute change of obedience and redemption in our lives.  Thus, from this day forward, God’s word shall become a bigger commitment and priority in our lives.

Let’s not believe the devil’s lie that Bible study is not a priority…or that familiarizing your self with God’s word hard to do, any longer.  At least test yourself and challenge yourself to look into the new avenues and new ways that God’s word becomes more relevant and more meaningful to you.

You need to find one or two methods that really click for you, that initially and prayerfully expand your vision to familiarizing yourself with scripture.
