A UNICEF study report that the majority of children are highly traumatized and expect to die before reaching adulthood. 90% have nightmare & suffer acute anxiety with 70% having seen acts of violence, including the killing of parents & relatives. Before Taliban rule, women and girls were raped; the Taliban rule brought strict rules striping the female from any freedoms plus during this time there were rumors of trafficking in females abducted by the Taliban. Afghanistan culture allows men to have more than 1 wife. The 2nd or 3rd wife is usually younger and more attractive which tends to lead to her being raped by other family members.

Prayer points:
Pray against trafficking and against the raping of women and young girls
Pray for healing of the traumatized children by the comfort of God
Praise for aid workers and the supplies they bring

The horrors of cruel violence and war have traumatized the girls and mothers. They need YOUR peace and only knowing YOU can bring that. So we ask YOU, Eternal LORD, YOU who are the same yesterday, to day and forever that YOU invade their troubled sleep and counter their nightmares by appearing to them in dreams just as YOU appeared to in Bible. Speak to them what they need to hear. The tales of women boiling grass for food when water is available is beyond comprehension. but if a king lived on it for years, I guess it is nourishing. But we are grateful for the humanitarian outreaches to feed the poor. Thank YOU. There is such danger for teams going into these Muslim countries and we ask for special protection. Just as when an angry crowd wanted to harm JESUS and HE could walk through them unschathed, so hide the teams going throughout the WINDOW as YOU lead
