Now his father went down to see the woman. And Samson made a feast there, as was
customary for bridegrooms.

with my spice. I have eaten my honeycomb and my honey; I have drunk my wine and
my milk. Eat, O friends, and drink; drink your fill, O lovers.
Lift up your eyes and look around; all your sons gather and come to you. As
surely as I live," declares the Lord, "you will wear them all as ornaments; you
will put them on, like a bride.
I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me
with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a
bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns
herself with her jewels.
As a young man marries a maiden, so will your sons [ Or Builder] marry
you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God
rejoice over you.
"Go and proclaim in the hearing of Jerusalem: "`I remember the devotion of your
youth, how as a bride you loved me and followed me through the desert,
through a land not sown.
Does a maiden forget her jewelry, a bride her wedding ornaments? Yet my
people have forgotten me, days without number.
I will banish from them the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride
and bridegroom, the sound of millstones and the light of the lamp.

"How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them?

The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and

out to meet him!'
"But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived.
The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door
was shut.
The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the
bridegroom waits and listens for him,
and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom's voice. That joy is
mine, and it is now complete.
The light of a lamp will never shine in you again. The voice of bridegroom
and bride will never be heard in you again.
Your merchants were the world's great men. By your magic spell all the nations
were led astray.
Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has
come, and his bride has made herself ready.
I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,
prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues
came and said to me, "Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the
Lamb."
The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!"
Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift
of the water of life.
