Doing The Math
From scripture, we learn the expectations of Jesus are not for us to simply live
the American dream, die and go to heaven. There is some
accounting to do. To church leaders in Corinth Paul wrote:
For all of us must appear before judgment seat of
Christ, so each may receive recompense for what has been done in the body,
whether good or evil.
(2 Cor 5:10)
Most of us have the wood,
hay and stubble. It is our choice to lay up treasure of
gold, silver, and precious
stones. What have we given to Jesus that will survive the
refining fire?
As Jesus was leaving the earth his last request was for us to
go
to the ends of the earth. Go and
disciple the nations. There are no biblical exclusions on who should be
involved in fulfilling Jesus' last request.
Since the Lord will not leave us or forsake us, what assignment will you not
take? What would you do if you were not afraid?
There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
We must warn them. And we must train and disciple others to
warn
them of the terror of the mistake of not embracing Jesus — Creator, Redeemer and
Friend.
