Mission Reserves

Plugging Missions Into Your Life
The challenge is out to "Tithe Your Life
To Missions" and at
least become a Mission Reservist. As the mission arm of Surge Up,
Mission Reserves is a great way to fit missions into your life.
|
|
I urge you to develop personal goals and aims in regard to missions and missions
mobilisation. For example, if every person, who had some degree of
understanding, wisdom and commitment, had as a target the mobilisation of just
ten others, can you imagine what would happen across the world? Often, of
course, missions mobilisation will be teamwork rather than the work of one ‘lone
ranger’ who somehow has a special gift to mobilise others. We need small groups
around the world, churches around the world and missions committees around the
world who are going to spend time in prayer and discussion as they develop
definite goals and aims in regard to world evangelism in obedience to the Lord
Jesus. George Verwer |
In our
lifetime,
wouldn’t it be sad if we spent more time
washing dishes or swatting flies or mowing the yard or watching
sitcoms...
than praying for world missions!

Life Tithe
Take a life story inventory...
Will you "Tithe Your Life" to World Missions? |
|
|
|
This is
your lifetime challenge... To tithe at least 10% of the rest of your life into
supporting, building, contributing and personally participating in world
missions no matter where you are geographically... It's a method of better
fitting missions into your life to surge up and get plugged in.
Let’s look at an average 70 year life span
and consider tithing 10% of your life to God for mission work. Refunding
the first 20 years for training, 10% of 50 years is 5 years of mission work over
a 70 year life span. How about serving 3 years full time after retirement,
leaving a timely 2 year term opportunity right now wherever you are in life to
serve God in missions. Keep in mind the Mormons make a two year commitment
mandatory and they send themselves.

Tithe 10% of a 40
hour work week as a mission reservist.
1040 is also a significant number in missions...Click the pic to
better understand this mega important number.

Or... Tithe your life
like
a military reservist's part time schedule...
If you figure 10% of the annual 40
hour work week, it matches the same military work week schedule. It
could be the ideal way to breakdown your goals. |
Of course these time breakdowns are just ways to wake you up and make you
take initiative to fit missions into your life. Take inventory and
you may realize that you are currently be spending more time watching
sitcom reruns
than God's greatest priority...
The mission of bringing every tongue,
tribe and nation to Him. May this simple math inspire you to
intentionally fit missions into your life better and redeem the time for
world missions. We all need structure, encouragement and
accountability for this. That's when SurgeUp.com online community
including
MissionReserves.com helps.

commitments for now or you can't pack your bags just yet for a two year
trek just keep reading the math below and in the next column... Remember

Doing The Math
4 hours per week is
also of course 10% of a 40 hour work week or
208
annual hours...
4 hours a week is 240
minutes or just under 35 minutes a day.
|
Breaking It Down
4 hours a week can also be 48 minutes a day during a 5 day work
week.
The same time amount of
meaningless sitcom
reruns. |
Think of it, anything you do for 35
minutes a day is tithing a 40 hour work week work annually.
