Godly obedience requires a deep desire and great personal initiative. God is literally waiting for you to take Him up on His promises. Jesus is calling for young people who are willing to pay the price of deep fellowship with Him.

We need to enlist in a spiritual training program to become godly. (1 Timothy 4:7) As J. Oswald Sanders puts it, "Only those who count such intimacy a prize worth sacrificing anything else for are likely to attain it… We are now, and we will be in the future, only as intimate with God as we really choose to be."

Schoolwork, dating, music, sports or anything else can stand in the way of you and God. Even good things that demand more attention can distract us and become a diversion. When you fall in love with Jesus your heart won't be as likely to drift away. (Hebrew 2:1)

We need to will to obey God, not just have good intentions. We need to be committed to do what He requires long before the storms of life come.

We need to make sure we are convinced that living for God is where it’s at. We should ask God to guide us with encouragement in our Christian walk. Find whatever makes you tick for Jesus and wind it up for a lifelong commitment.

You have already learned about the promises relating to prayer and relationships. Now it's decision time. Who will your heart be obedient to? Who are you going to follow in life?

The bible tells us we can only serve or follow one person or thing at a time. We cannot serve God and the world. We have to choose one or the other.

If you want to fall in love with Jesus forever, the answer is simple … follow Him.

Jesus has a plan for your life. He has prepared the most awesome journey you could ever imagine. He has plans for you to prosper. Jesus knows where along the path he will need to protect you from harm, and when he will need to carry you.

Obey Jesus and follow His commandments. He is ready to love you, to guide you and to bless you abundantly.

-Dan Davidson

Finally be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Ephesians 6:10
